Top 10 Med School Scholarships in 2021
Medical school tuition and living expenses are extremely high nowadays! Here’s a list of ten scholarships that you can apply to this year. Whether small or large, any amount of award is better than no award. I hope this inspires you to go on your own search for scholarships and to keep applying until you win!
1. MCAT PREP HUB
- Award: $500
- Due Date: September 30, 2021
- Eligibility: all medical school students and those planning on enrolling within 12 months
- Application: The winner will be determined by random drawing. To enter for the Scholarship you must leave a review of your MCAT Test Prep Company on their website.
2. Med School Insiders
- Award: $1,000
- Due Date: previous was June 30th, 2020
- Eligibility: premedical and medical students who demonstrate financial need
- Application:
- Write a 500-word maximum essay stating – What are the qualities that make a “good doctor”?
- Secure a PDF copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR) of FAFSA
- Fill out a short application form
3. Lamber-Goodnow Injury Law
- Award: $1,000
- Due Date: each year by December 1st
- Eligibility: Must either be applying to medical school for enrollment the following academic year or currently be enrolled in medical school and will remain enrolled in medical school through the following academic year
- Application:
- Submit a 500- to 750-word essay – Tell us what drives you and why you want to pursue a medical degree or why you want to go to medical school
- Attach your most recent school transcript and proof of school enrollment.
- Submitting your resume or CV is optional
4. Medical Scrubs Collection
- Award: $1,000
- Due Date: previous was December 15, 2020
- Eligibility: Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and pursuing a degree in the medical field such as therapy, nursing, medicine, nutrition, laboratory science, dentistry, etc.
- Application: Your submission should tell us what inspired you to pursue a degree in the medical field. You may choose to complete one of the following projects:
- Writing – up to 500 words (relevant pictures may be included)
- Image – up to 8.5” x 11”, along with a short description
5. The Prosper Shaked Scholarship
- Award: $1,500
- Due Date: August 15th, 2021
- Eligibility: Available, annually, to any applicant pursuing any of the following degrees:
- An undergraduate degree in a pre-medical field (e.g. biology, chemistry, or pre-med); Nursing degree; Physician’s Assistant degree; Medical Assistant degree; M.D. or D.O. degrees; Doctor of Nurse Practitioner (D.N.P); Nurse Anesthetist (N.A.); Dentist (D.D.S.); Psychiatry; Chiropractor; or Any other medical degrees.
- Application: Complete the Future Medical Professional Scholarship form found on their website. Submit a 650-word essay about your future goals in the medical field. A transcript reflecting your current academic standing, a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and proof of enrollment.
6. The “Save a Life” Scholarship
- Award: $1,500
- Due Date: May 1st, 2021
- Eligibility: Any student currently enrolled in, or applying to enroll within the next academic year, in a degree program in the fields of healthcare or education, at an accredited U.S. university, is eligible to apply.
- Application: A scholarship essay of between 750 and 1,000 words, explaining your career aspirations, how you plan to advance healthcare and/or education through your work, and what inspired you to commit yourself to this field. A copy of your most recent academic transcript to prove enrollment in a qualifying degree program from accredited US institutions.
7. iVein Health & Wellness Scholarship
- Award: $2,500
- Due Date: August 31st, 2021 and December 31st, 2021
- Eligibility: Any current full-time undergraduate or graduate student attending an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.7 is welcome to apply. Medical school students may provide proof of their pass/ fail classes.
- Application: Write an essay of 800 to 1000 words, promoting a practical approach to a healthy lifestyle during college years and how these habits can be sustained over a lifetime.
8. Comp Health Blog
- Award: $5,000
- Due Date: to be determined
- Eligibility: Minimum GPA of 3.0. Or passing status is required. Must be a full-time medical student attending (or planning to attend on a full-time basis) an accredited institution of higher education located in the United States.
- Application: Choose one of the topics below and create a video (2 minutes max) or written statement (500 words max) that you will post on social media

9. TYLENOL® Future Care
- Award: Ten (10) $10,000 scholarships and Twenty-five (25) $5,000 scholarships will be awarded annually
- Due Date: previous was July 30th, 2020
- Eligibility: Applicants must meet all the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:
- Be a resident of the 50 United States, Puerto Rico or the District of Columbia.
- Be a graduate student or be a college senior who will be enrolling in graduate school during the 2021-22 academic year.
- Provide proof of enrollment to a graduate program in medical school, nursing, and/or pharmacy.
- Have one or more years of school remaining.
- Application: Must complete an online application including details of college GPA, academic records in medical school, nursing and/or pharmacy, community involvement/volunteer service, and essay.
10. The White Coat Investor
- Award: We’re going to do something a little different this year. We’re going to have ten winners, but only two levels of prizes. All winners will receive a WCI online course. There will be five (5) second prizes which will be $2,000 cash and five (5) grand prizes which will split equally all remaining cash.
- Due Date: previous was August 31, 2020
- Eligibility: Only professional students enrolled full-time in a professional school located in the United States for the 2021-2022 year and in good academic standing are eligible. That means medicine, osteopathic medicine, podiatry, dentistry, law, pharmacy, optometry, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, CRNA, anesthesiologist assistant, or veterinarian. We will also consider physical therapy and occupational therapy students if the program leads to a doctorate degree.
- Application: An 800-1200 word proofread essay written in English on any topic you choose. This limit is STRICTLY enforced. Don’t be “that guy” who lost tens of thousands because he couldn’t count to 1200.
