Welcome to my blog! My name is Jay and I am a second-year medical student with the aim to document my journey to becoming a doctor.

I graduated from college in 2017 with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. Despite getting into medical school during my senior year, I actually declined my acceptance. Shortly after, I went abroad on a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in Poland. After three gap years, taking the MCAT three times, applying to medical school twice, traveling the world, and taking lots of risks, I feel ready to pursue this path.

It has been a long process so far, but I have learned so much along the way, and I’m excited to share it all. My goal is to be completely transparent about failures, hardships, doubts, and much more on this journey.

If you want to learn about the medical school application process, getting a Fulbright Scholarship, living abroad, motivation… STICK AROUND!
